Utah head men’s basketball coach Craig Smith adds 6-10 center Joul Karram for upcoming 2025-25 campaign.

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah head men's basketball coach Craig Smith announced the addition of Joul Karram for the upcoming 2024-25 campaign as the Runnin' Utes prepare to make their debut as a member of the Big 12 Conference.

"We are thrilled to announce that Joul will be joining the Runnin' Utes," said Smith. "Joul has all the physical traits. He can really run the floor, moves very well for his size, has good hands and great awareness on the floor. He plays above the rim and has a relentless motor. He also has a great feel for the game on both ends of the floor. He is really smart and comes from an amazing family."

Karram comes to Salt Lake City with plenty of international experience having played for Israel at FIBA events like the U16 European Championships and the U18 Eurobasket Championships in 2024.

In addition, the 6-10 center also competed in the Adidas Next Generation Tournament qualifiers with Hapoel Tel Aviv. The 2023-24 season saw Karram average 13.6 points, 11.8 rebounds and 3.5 blocks with a .429 shooting clip from 3-point range with Hapoel Tel Aviv. He earned an Israeli U18 All-Star Team selection for his play this past season as well.

With the signing of Karram, the Runnin' Utes complete their roster for the upcoming 2024-25 season with 10 newcomers – two of which are true freshmen while the other eighth are transfers. Karram is set to join Miro Little, Ezra Ausar, Brady Smith, Keanu Dawes, Caleb Lohner, Mike Sharavjamts, Ibi Traore, Zach Keller and Mason Madsen.
